Bolton Hill Marathon

The Bolton Hill Marathon is one 26.2 mile lollipop lap of beautiful and scenic countryside starting and finishing in Moss Bank Park. The Marathon has a fully supported route with 6 Feed Stations/check points along the way with free gels, nutritional products and bottled/cup water at each station for all runners to enjoy along with a friendly atmosphere. Although one of the toughest marathons in the UK it is suitable for all abilities with a 8 hour time limit,the marathon takes you through some of the most beautiful trails and Country Roads on the West Pennine Moors with spectacular views (on a clear day) across the whole North West of England. You run up and over Winter Hill taking you past the massive 1,035 foot Mast, past Rivington Pike and Barn, through Barrow Bridge village, past White Coppice and along the famous Anglezarke Reservoir on a stunning 26.2 mile journey. The route is approximately 50% Country road and 50% Trail with a total ascent of 2997 feet.
