runNTU is an annual charity running event, which aims to raise funds to help the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre to continue its vital research into developing new ways to diagnose and treat cancer. The centre is based on Clifton Campus at Nottingham Trent University, which ensures all money raised goes directly to life saving research. The event takes place from 2 pm on 23 April and has two routes – a 5 km multi-terrain track, and a 1.5 km fun run to enable families or those who wish to run a shorter distance to take part. The 5k race will be chip timed this year, so if you want to, you can try to achieve your personal best! Entry into runNTU is £10 per participant for the 5 km event (which includes a race t-shirt and chip timing), and £3 per entry into the fun run. Fancy dress for both distances is actively encouraged, and there will be prizes for this alongside some of the more athletic achievements! Registration on the day will open from 12pm, with the race starting at 2pm. Make sure you get there early – the day includes musical entertainment and bouncy castles.
