Description
See click here /> for race details and online entry. A new event for 2017, the Somerset Sprint Tri is held on the same day as our ever-popular beginner’s “Try-a-Tri” event at the stunning seafront location of Portishead Lake Grounds / Portishead Open Air Pool. Enter online now at click here /> The Sprint Race goes off first, starting at 8am, with a multi-wave pool swim in the unique 33m open air pool on the shore of the Bristol Channel. Straight after that comes a 25K bike course with stunning views from a ridge overlooking the sea, 3 challenging climbs and a route that sticks to quiet roads (B roads & minor roads between Portishead and Walton Village). The run course is a 4-lap loop around Portishead Lake Grounds – fast and flat with lots of opportunity for your supporters to cheer you on from the Esplanade (they have a choice of seafront cafes to relax in while you’re out on the bike!). If you’ve done our Try-a-Tri before, the Sprint Tri is a great way to take a step up in distance while still enjoying the low-pressure environment of a small event. The max entrants for Sprint & Try-a-Tri combined is 200 so there will be plenty of space in Transition and no problem parking near the start. This race is also a perfect warmup / sharpener for the Bristol Triathlon in June. Awards/mementos: Medal T-Shirt Venue facilities: Changing Toilets Showers Onsite parking Refreshments
